The effect of essential oils

Essential oils affect the body and mind in different ways: Odours lead to a sensory perception with various side effects - from a pure emotional impression to a reflexive influence on various bodily functions. The effect of essential oils is intensified by massaging them into the skin or targeted inhalation, so that they have a direct influence on certain organs.

The air flavour when bathing

Modern aromatherapy is becoming increasingly popular. We see the special effect in the combination with other types of bath. But first two comments:

  1. The human sense of smell becomes accustomed to the fragrance within a few minutes. Despite objectively the same intensity, the fragrance is perceived as diminishing. If you leave the cabin for a few minutes, you will notice that the fragrance is still present when you return. It is therefore of little use to overdose; a subtle fragrance is just as stimulating.

  2. Some fragrances (especially chemical products) are aggressive, incompatible with the skin and a danger to the eyes. We only use 100% natural, essential oils in the RUKU fragrance board.

Our standard range

  • Eucalyptus: For respiratory diseases. Active ingredients inhibit mucus formation, have an antiseptic and expectorant effect (makes it easier to cough up).

  • Larch pine: Expands the airways, has an antiseptic effect, brings relief from bronchitis and colds.

  • Lavender: Particularly suitable for full-body care, versatile essential oil, facial steam baths (a few drops in hot water) for skin care, also has a calming effect on the nervous system in cases of restlessness, nervous exhaustion and sleep disorders.

  • Orange: Has a refreshing, antispasmodic and skin-caring effect.

Inhalation with the flavour bowl

The flavour bowl is designed for inhaling essential oils using a tried and tested home method. To do this, fill the flavour bowl or active ingredient container about 2/3 full with water and add a few drops of essential oil or herbs. The essences contained in the medicinal herbs are vaporised during this hot water extraction or are carried away by the rising steam.

To maintain their concentration, we recommend sitting directly next to the steam outlet, putting a towel over your head if necessary and inhaling the rising vapours directly. When extracting from tea bags, you should use the tea blends from the pharmacy, which are richer in active ingredients. Liquid concentrates are usually so intense that you can do without the towel.
