Similar to an insulating glass window, the insulating effect of air is utilised. Layers of air chambers and aluminium reflective foils are embedded in the wooden elements. Fibre insulation materials are sensitive to moisture and, once damp, drastically lose their insulating effect. The effect of gravity can cause fibre insulation materials to sag over time.
